It is on hold for a little time, I need to do something else so that is why I am working with this short. I have to be productive here The storyboarding is slowly making progress and I promise you that it is developing.

Ola, I am all confused! I had no idea what was going on, but it looks really nice still. Was it supposed to be so dark at the beginning (I notice the scene is much darker than the first preview that you showed us)? Incredible camera work there... I think the scene is not quite done yet - despite some really impressive things it still looks a bit unfinished in places; for example, the "bullets" sometimes seem to come out of nowhere, or leap from the robots' hands onto her head (?). There are some jagged edges on some objects which are a little out-of-place - one brown piece of metal seems to have edges which are light blue. One suggestion I'd have (I don't know if it's too late to implement this) is to have the pile of junk in front of the robot at the beginning look more 3-dimensional - right now it looks like she's standing behind a piece of flat cardboard. Perhaps have a few objects in front of & behind that pile move as the camera moves to give it the illusion of depth. Another thing is at the end, when the dirt falls off her feet - there should be a few more detailed particles of dirt along with the blurred particles of dirt, I think - the camera's focusing there, after all, so it's expected that some of the dirt will be "in focus". Those robotic tubes looked amazing, though I had no idea what they were at first... Oh, and the rhythm of everything was really nice too - it went really well with the music! On a first viewing I was overwhelmed by the rhythm of everything, and only the second time did I notice that the images actually seem to form a story (although I'm not sure what the story is yet). EDIT: Two more things, actually... Now that I look at it, the scene at the very beginning, in front of the junk pile after the camera stops moving and the robot is at the centre of the screen... seems too static to me - the camera seems unnaturally rooted in place. Perhaps you could try zooming in slowly & then zooming back out slowly just before the camera does that 90-degree 3D turn - I think it might be more interesting that way. Also, you mentioned that it's in HD format... does this mean that there is no plan to submit it to Newgrounds?

Hi there Esn, and thanks a lot for your feedback.
You are right, this little clip is not yet finished, but you have put the spotlight on a couple of things that will make this part of the film even better.
This little piece just shows the mood, not really any story. The story will bind things togeather, for example, that her left side is a little defect and out of control. That she has fled from war and destruction with a vessel collecting scrap metal. She is dumped at a military junkyard that recycles weapons to be sold again.
I wont spoil the rest, you will see for yourself.
I will submit the film to Newgrounds, but not in HD-res. Don´t worry! ;D

You know, oddly enough, I figured out all of what you just said about the story simply from watching the clip a few times. I like the texture on the hands, by the way...

Hi Ola, I just took a look at the first trailer and I'm not sure what to think of it yet. The animation itself is crisp and well done. It has a good sense of depth, good use of shadowing. Movement's are smooth and fluid. Now aside from the technical critique...... It seems quite surrealistic. A rusting robot, in the middle of a vast junk yard, playing with what looks like shell casings from a large caliber anti-tank gun. Then to see those flying saucers gathering up the shell casings seemed a little ominous to me.
It will be interesting to see which way to take the storyline for this one. Sage

I think that the problem with the bullets striking her head because of her malfunctioning left hand is that it is almost impossible to see it happen with the naked eye unless you're really carefully watching that part of the screen. There seems to be only one frame (if even that) of the bullet flying from her hand to her head, so it's easy to think that the bullet just suddenly appears there. I think that action should be a tiny bit slower (more than 1 frame) so that it's possible for the viewer to see it. Oh, and sageblackthorn - it does seem really surreal at first, but watch it again & see if you notice a story this time. I think Ola did a brilliant job conveying that the robot isn't quite working properly, by the way - it's not an easy thing to do, using only images! Ola, what happened to the sounds in that first preview?

Ola, what happened to the sounds in that first preview? Sorry for the late answare!! Regarding the sounds, I am not sure sound is needed when the robot is moving, as she will move quite a lot. And in the end it might just be a little too annoying to hear the wiizzzzyyy, wizzzyyyyy, wizzzzyyy, all the time. It stops the other sounds from getting through. But there will be more sounds to it than the trailer version.
