Thanks Ola
I went to the Flashvision to hear you speak.
It was a great experience.
Thanks - sharing your ideas and tricks about shapetweening and 2½D was very generous.
I think you're really exploring the corners of the Flash program.
Shapetweening is a concept with many frustrations but your hint about the nodes/vertices was great - I've tryed to play with it and it seams to work.
Only you have to finish the shapetween before you save - because after the save a lot of new nodes are being added...
Good luck with the Robot project - the cameramove is really incredible..
You move the limits for flash animation again.
Thanks
Bo

I gave a little sneak preview of my coming short "H35787" at Flashvision, now I would like to give you all the same opportunaty to see it. You will find it here as a 8mb flash video. As I am making this for HDV the scene format is quite big, so an swf would kill your computers. I will make a LowRes version of it later on, but right now you can watch it www.goober.nu/downloads/H35787.htmlThe music is written by Mats Schubert, a good friend of mine. Enjoy the sneak preview and tell me what you think!

HDV... Not that it surprises me now, yet I'm impressed by the sheer growth of your goals, as and in the part that I understood them, from Gooberstory to this one... (A thought came to me for some reason that we don't even have HDTV in Russia, except maybe for one or two channels, but that I do not know for sure).
And the preview is great, as usual ;-)) What I liked specially among the details is that it at the same time gives the impression of being 3-dimensional, having some volume (rare for 2d) in it - and shows no awkwardness which is characteristical for most contemporary 3d animation. I guess that may be unique - and that IS great. Well, I'm just refraining from judging other aspects, I liked everything so much, anyways, both the technical side and what ideas I could catch.
Heh... That's what often happens to side projects... So I remain in the ranks of those eagerly waiting more and more of the movie.

Mindblowing Ola. I like the new feel you get out with everything you make. Its a whole new diffrent world with this robotlady. The music was also fascinating, love how the big vacuumcleaneralienspaceships arrive ;D Made my floor vibrate and the neighbours knock ;D Really looking forward to where this one will move. Feels pretty unique and interesting. I looked it about 5 times now, and i just love the rotation, makes you really move in your chair.

Absolutely mind blowing!!! I can't believe that was done done in Flash.... How many layers is the robot character? It seems like you put alot of effort in that and i must say that your truely inspired me once again to see how far i can push Flash.....
The wait was well worth it......
That camera move........My lord...Was Sham's V-cam used in any of that?
Splendid work my friend!

The robot is probably made on 70 layers give or take. They are divided withing different symbols, so I am not sure about the exact number. I have not used Sham's V-cam here, I am working in a different way.

Watched an appreciated this one. It looks like you've managed to really take advantage of what 3d is capable of (that rotating shot around the robot's head, magnificent). I am curious about the story, though, because this trailer seemed to be made mostly just to show off the new animation abilities you've discovered, which is all well and good, of course. Still, rather confusing to someone trying to think of it in the context of a story.
And I'm not really sure about those metal tube-things (look like bullet-casings), what they are and why they pop out of the robot's hand, not just once but twice.
So, I have a few question marks over my head. Not a bad thing. I'm at least very interested in the film.

I believe they are bullet-casings... And, judging from just how accurately the first robot collected only them, the war may be somewhere around in time. And, looking at... But what if I'm guessing right? Better not spoil then ;-))

Still, rather confusing to someone trying to think of it in the context of a story. There is a story, a rather good one, and this is a teaser, not a finished film.
