In Nim's Winter Tale, there's a small little thing that always made me wonder, and now I finally have the opportunity to "know" and/or discuss about it. You know when Nim goes away from his house, and he starts walking, he passes by a sort of creature, kind of a humanoid if you ask me, that is sleeping, and breathes heavily. I wonder what that is ? Is it a human ? A troll ? A gnome ? Some swedish folklore creature ? Just wondering

I think it is a human too. What was the small thingy nim had a snowball fight with?

Well... If it's a human, he has a really LARGE nose lol. Plus, wouldn't he be dead ? Seems like a pretty hostile and freezing environment out there... Or maybe I'm just being too "perfectionist", and I should reconsider the basis to watch the movie: " a magical world where everything is possible".

Nah, we see what humans look like when he gets the porridge and they wern't a strange colour; half naked or had really big noses. I think its something from another foke tale.

If it was just a normal human, why is he sleeping outside? I was wondering what the breath was coming from as well.

Sorry to burst your bubble and your great debate, but yes, it is a troll-like being. And the snowball creatures are Grällar, one Gräll, many Grällar. “ä” should be pronounced “E” like in ending. They are quite harmless, but they do have cousins that are very dangerous.

Wow, I guess it's not so obvious if you don't grow up with those fairy tales...
I thought it was a giant (like the ones that live in the woods in those German fairy tales).

Will we get to see some?
They would be hard to animate though, I'd bet...
